Last week, I challenged each of you to join Ms. Hidde and me in a personal Lenten journey to Calvary during the weeks before Easter in a season of reflection, rededication and renewal as we journey to the foot of the cross and resolve to serve Him better. I grew up with this tradition and contrary to “Baptist” thinking it is not a denial of grace—rather an affirmation of our belief as Free Will Baptist that we are to grow in grace and knowledge.
As I have been pointing out in our Sunday evening studies on the differences between biblical truth and Calvinism, so called “Baptist” deceive folks by saying that believing on Jesus is an event, not the beginning of a journey of faith and growth toward perfection that is a lifelong journey toward the day that we are glorified at the coming of Christ or when we are called to be part of His father’s house before his coming to establish His kingdom on the planet earth that is a renewal of the Creator’s vision of what it should have been had our “first parents” not fallen from their original righteousness.
Personally, I can’t believe any serious Christian can have a problem with this concept of becoming all God created us to be…can you???
Know someone who is unable to attend church? Have a friend who would you like to “try out” the pastor before attending our services? Want to start your week with a extra dose of positive, faith building, Bible based confidence?
Join Pastor Hidde every Sunday morning on Tulsa’s 970AM (KCFO) for “Confident Living In Times Like These” at 8:30
The Bible tells us “If God be for us, who can be against us”, so what is holding you back? Could it be that your attitudes, fears, concern about what others think and lack of faith in God are the problem? It is easy to mouth platitudes about what God can do through us…it’s another thing to step out and act on it!
Question: Are we “following” God for what we can get from Him or are we following Him because of what we can do in response to His glorious, wondrous, awesome grace toward us?
Don’t let the “devil” rob you of the joy of your salvation…yeah, there’s lots of sin and bad stuff all around us, but rejoice, “your redemption drawth nigh”—Do all you can to stand, …THEN REJOICE!
